One thing I’d like to clarify before we dive into anything else is that we should not rely on crystals (ALL ON THEIR OWN) for a specific cure. People often come to me with a medical diagnosis they’ve received, and they want to know which crystal is good for healing/curing that particular medical issue. When it comes to a medical diagnosis, crystals are fantastic for supporting a sound holistic health plan overseen by a medical professional.
Also, when I say “holistic,” to most people, that means taking into account all the different aspects that come into play with healing. Physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Not just your body but your mind and your spirit as well, so you’re not just addressing the physical symptoms. I believe when it comes to healing this is how everyone should approach the process and that includes medical professionals.
Crystals are PART of a sound holistic health plan
Crystals allow us to tap into the vibrational frequencies or healing frequencies that we might be seeking more efficiently. Not to say that you can’t accomplish this without crystals, it most certainly can be done. However, crystals are here to assist us as a tool, allowing us to do the required work using less energy. In the world of physics, the definition of a tool is something that allows you to do the work using less energy.
For example, If you have a lawnmower, that’s a tool that will enable you to cut the grass using a lot less energy than going out there with a pair of scissors and cutting each blade of grass individually. So yes, as part of sound holistic healing practice, crystals can be a huge help. However, it could also be that your approach to working with the crystal is what’s blocking your desired outcome.
The Science Supporting The Metaphysical
One thing I always strive to do here on this blog is connected metaphysics with the science that supports it. So allow me to dive into the double-slit experiment that took place over 100 years ago. This experiment showed us that light and matter display characteristics of being both waves and particles, but more importantly, it taught us the nature of quantum mechanics.
This experiment also brought to light what would be known as “The Observer Effect” or the “Hawthorne Effect.” In essence, we learned that whatever the observer believed would happen was naturally going to impact the outcome. Meaning there is actual evidence to support the idea that our consciousness or our beliefs influence how our reality is shaped.
If you feel your crystal isn’t working It could mean it’s the wrong time for you to be working with that particular stone. So I would encourage you to try working with different crystal pieces of the same type. If it’s an amethyst, you’re working with experiment with other amethysts types
The crystal itself may also need to be vibrationally recalibrated. We all need to be unplugged some of the time, and the same can often happen with your crystal. It requires a re-tuning, and the easiest way to do so is through sound acoustics. The vibrations psychically travel through the object, yourself, and the crystal lattice recalibrating the dominant oscillatory rate of the crystal.
Also, remember that it’s always possible for a specific crystal to never be a proper vibrational match for you. If find that’s the case consider regifting it back to the earth or even regifting it to someone else.
Three things you can do to get your crystal working again
#1 – Ease into working with the stone
I see people try and force a specific stone into their life all the time. They pick up something new and want to dive into it immediately. I would recommend taking a slower approach when it comes to incorporating this specific stone into your life.
- Rather than wearing it all day as a piece of jewelry try meditating with the stone for 4-5 minutes instead.
- In addition to meditation, you could also consider keeping it with you when you sleep. Try putting it in your pillowcase, so it’s safe, and it doesn’t roll off the bed and then if you’re sleeping with it then you’re with it for about half the day instead of an entire day.
- Finally, try working with the stone every other day instead of every day.
#2 – Anoint the stone
Something else to consider before wearing the stone is anointing it. Most likely through a small ceremony or even a little prayer. This creates a vibrational bond between you and the crystal. Creating that bond allows you to make the stone yours. I would also recommend anointing your stone after you’ve already completed step one. Do this little ritual with a little bit of essential oil on the tip of your finger and just put it on the stone, and maybe say a little prayer or a little affirmation in how you would like to work with the crystal.
Perhaps you can take it into your sacred space. If you need ideas on creating a sacred space, I have a free eKit on creating a sacred space you can check out which includes a meditation mp3.
Start by taking a tiny little drop of essential oil and putting it on the crystal. If you prefer something like Florida Water or holy water that’s acceptable too. Before doing so, however, I would check the stone’s Mohs hardness. We want to make sure that the stone has a Mohs hardness of five or higher. Otherwise, water can slightly damage the crystal if you’re not careful. I like to be overly cautious in this area. Finally, rub the oil on the stone while stating a favorite prayer or an affirmation. You can also leave it in your sacred space for seven days or so. This process can help create a very strong bond between you and that crystal.
#3 – Retune your crystal
The third thing you can do is retune your crystal. Here we would use something like a crystal singing bowl or even a tuning fork. You can also place your stone in front of a speaker and turn the music up loud. What this does is create sound acoustics with a high amplitude, and that high amplitude is going to trump the oscillatory frequency of the crystal. It will recalibrate it down to the crystal lattice, or down to the molecules.
I hope you try these three steps you can take to get your crystal working again! If nothing on this list works for you, it might be that your time with this particular stone is up. WHICH IS OK I PROMISE! If it truly is time to part with your crystal then consider gifting it to someone else or even regifting it back to Mama Earth.
Let me know in the comments if you’ve used any of these steps to reconnect with your crystals! I’d also love to hear if you have a specific stone that doesn’t work for you? Or maybe a one that you feel has never worked for you?
Crystal Blessings,

Greetings,
Been viewing your uploads for quite some time now. Very pleased to see that you are very well versed. Myself, being what I call a “crystalodian” (a caretaker of precious stones, gems, crystals, etc.) for the better part of 35 years. I do enjoy your informative clips and was quite surprised to see your sacred space so closely resemble the one I created many years back. I have a rather large deep purple Amethyst Geode standing close to 4.5 feet tall about 2.5 feet in dia. and about 350 pounds. It’s almost to a very dark plum color which is my pride and joy. Just wanted to give a shout and thank you for your time and efforts.
Be fulfilled in everything.
Hey Steve, … love that, “crystalodian” 😀
Your amethyst sounds like a divine piece. TY so much for stopping by to say “hi”
Greetings again,
Don’t know if you’re familiar with Black Galaxy Amethyst, I find it to be about the best for those seeking those moments of solitude, meditation, grounding, etc. Just wanted to throw that bit of info. forward. Have a number of these in large Geode clusters that seem to help calm down the jitters after a long day.
Blessings.
Thanks
Sometime I wonder how Google is working. I have been searching crystal-sens and they recommend me your site. It is very interesting, at least the part I understood, but it is definetly not what I am looking for
OK. Well, thanks for stopping in to say “hi” anyway Zara. 😉
Greetings,
I use similar methods to anoint stones, Florida water, smoke, fire and ash. I prefer not to use oil as, well, I don’t like it. I have gotten really good results with ash from white sage, sweet grass etc..
Anyway, just my little 2 cents worth.
Namaste ????
Oooo, that’s a new one to try. TY, Andrew.
Hi,
I don’t comment often, but felt I wanted to this time. I am not really a skeptic as far as crystals having an effect on me personally, but have difficulty “believing” in the helping others with crystal healing. I am afraid the belief I have is that it is our responsibility to heal ourselves. I do believe, however, that if someone asks, then they are open to help, but have to do it for themselves. I would love to do your course, but mainly for myself.
Your vlogs are so helpful pointing me towards ways of helping myself, but I fall down when I try to help others. Maybe I am just surrounded by people who are skeptics and I feel I don’t need to convert them as that’s ok with them.
I have soooo many crystals and like you find that size does matter. I recently acquired a huge Quartz Point that I have in my sacred space that weighs approximately 9 kilos. Wow it is beautiful and quite some companion.
I was very interested in your comments around sound. The bit about putting a crystal by a speaker and turning it up loud was something that resonated with me. Sometimes when walking along the main road and a police car or ambulance comes past with sirens blaring, I can feel it cleansing me as it goes past! I wondered if that was possibly how people feel listening to loud music? ????
Well, just thinking in writing….
Thank you for sharing what you do with us.
Namaste ????
Gail, I’m so glad you decided to leave a comment. 🙂 And you’re right… “it is our responsibility to heal ourselves”.
I feel I can add to that that I can use selected tools and supports to assist me towards that goal.
I think what may be getting in your way is lack of confidence in your abilities. Could that be true? If so, you may want to take a close look at my course. 😉

I surely do enjoy your crystal information. I learn a lot by following you, and I also appreciate being reminded of things I once knew but then forgot. As far as crystals working off and on, yeah, that happens with me. For this reason, I like to switch out my crystals from time to time. For example, I always have one or two in bed with me, and I always set a grid for my chakras to keep me in tune during the day. Whenever a crystal or set of crystals seems to have “lost its touch,” I find it will do much better later after it’s had a rest. I also like to switch them out just for a change–don’t want to get stuck in any ruts, you know! Besides, I love them all so much I miss having each and every one of them very near me for an extended period.
Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I think you are absolutely right. I have a lot to work through with regard to my confidence.
Thank you for pointing that out, I have something to think about and heal there. Now to find a crystal to assist my healing ????.
Maybe next year with the course…..
Many thanks to you for all you do,
Namaste ????
Thank you for this article! I enjoyed your explanation of how crystals and stones are tools to use as a PART of a Holistic health practice. This is definitely an article I’ll be referring to when I feel my crystals are losing steam.
I didn’t put it all together until I watch your video. I couldn’t figure out why I was having doubts and feeling overwhelmed emotionally. I had been doing a Rose Quartz elixer and had one on each night stand. Once I saw the video, that light bulb went off and I realized that the rose quartz was doing the opposite for me. Instead of bringing love into my life, it was bringing doubt, bad mojo. I poured out the gem elixer, washed the stone, removed the ones on the night stand and put them away. Within hours, I noticed a change in my thoughts and feelings. I am using citrine in my gem elixer now. So my question to you is, ‘How long are we expected to be in this bubble?’
Thanks for suggesting that we ease into the process of incorporating a stone into our lives by meditating with it for a few minutes every other day. I’ve recently become interested in crystal healing, but I’m very new to the idea and wasn’t sure how to start using a new crystal. I learned a lot from the tips you discussed here, so thanks for sharing!
I love your thinking, according to me Healing crystal are very absorbent, they are perfect for learning and cleaning any type of energy.
Thank you so much for the informative article on how to properly use crystals. Those were some great 3 steps!
Also just thought i’d share this really cool rainbow crystal 🙂

I feel so good when I hold the crystal in hands however it feels like it does not work while keeping them near me.
That’s good to know that if a certain type of crystal doesn’t work for you that doesn’t mean that all types of the crystal won’t. I would imagine that it would be impossible to tell if a certain type doesn’t work until you try several of them. I haven’t ever used crystals before, but I would like to have some spiritual healing, so I might have to think about giving some a try.
Instead of wearing I like to meditate with a crystal and it works in my case.
Hello
Thanks for sharing valuable information. I am new to crystals. Few days back i got one rose quartz gua sha. I wonder if it can serve both purposes…for face and for energy healing?
I like how you compared using these crystals like using tools to get work done while using less energy. A lot of people probably don’t know much about healing clarity bracelets or about the gems used in the healing process but I agree with your explanation that it is just like a tool. Thank you for teaching me what these bracelets are and how they can be used best.
