Vintage crystal books?
That is… books that are twenty years old or older. Well, see… I already have a classic blog post here listing my crystal healing book recommendations. (Wow, I wrote that blog post back in 2012.) And that list still stands for me.
No changes.
But, today… I have some oldy-but-goodies that are hidden little gems that I’d really like to share with you. Keep in mind, this list is, of course, my opinion and you may disagree.
DISCLAIMER: Many of these books are out of print and may be hard to find thereby coming with some ridiculous price tag. Please don’t get mad at me if they do. I’ve been collecting these books for a long time from when they weren’t so hard to get.
If you’re patient
and put them on your Amazon wishlist
look for them on eBay
check out old book stores
or even Abe’s books or one of the books stores mentioned here… just chill out about when they’ll show up, add in some persistence and a grateful attitude… you’ll begin to notice that slowly but surely they’ll start appearing for you.
Amazing how that works.

Crystal Blessings!
Love this post! I have several of the books you mentioned, including Joy Gardner’s “Color and Crystals,” which is dog-eared.
My first crystal book was “Crystal Clear” by Connie Church. Thirty years ago, I was inside an airport bookstore when I noticed a book with a clear Quartz Crystal attached to the cover–not a picture, but a real crystal! I couldn’t believe it. There were several copies of this book and I flipped through them like a madwoman, trying to determine which of the crystals I liked best. And then I thought, “This is really silly,” and I walked away to browse in the travel section.
But I just couldn’t get my mind off those amazing, magical crystals. And I soon found myself returning to the aisle with the crystal books and flipping through them again. Finally, I gave in and bought one of the books, although it had been a really tough decision because all the crystals were so beautiful and I knew I wanted them all! “Crystal Clear” is out of print now, although I think you can still get copies of it but without the crystal.
Ooo, I’ll have to check that one out, Eleyne. Thanks for the recommendation.
Love is in the Earth. by Melody
I have that one too. it’s got loads of different crystals in it. and it’s thick.
at the time it was pretty comprehensive, but a lot of the more recently discovered crystals, shungite, K2 and the like, aren’t in it, obviously.
but for the ones that were known then, it’s very in depth, and easy to look up by need as well as crystal.
My favorite too.
My fiance padded away 3 years ago on December 16th. Although I’ve always loved crystals and used to go on mining trips with my aunt and uncle, she really got my interest going in full swing again. Anyway, she had the Crystal Clear book and a beautiful crystal cluster that came with it. I still have them both and cherish them so much. I love and miss you Wendy. This journey is so different without you love. The kids still have their love of rocks they inherited from you. Thank you for the post. I love your blog very much Hibiscus.

i have the crystal bible, for me it’s basic enough that i can follow it, lol!
That is a good book, Terina, but I like them to go a bit deeper and be spot-on with the geo and scientific info too. I know… so picky! 😉
The science part is so important. For this reason I have a few rock hound books. When I catalog my stones I always put the Moh’son there as this is so important to Crystal healing and care of the stones. My favorite is the Audubon Sociey’s Field Guide. Love it! I actually have one with my book by Melody (the Last Testimate one with all the pictures that weights about 40 pounds – yes that’s an exaggeration), and my Gurudas’s book.
I also have the Crystal Bible. It’s my favorite go to for quick info and identifying new crystals I have been lucky enough to find!

I’m sorry. I have no idea how I reposted this on a separate comment about a separate book. Sorry.
I still have basic books, so this is all new to me. I am especially intrigued by the small but mighty book mentioned, so I will be searching for that one.
The only vintage book I own is by Melody, Love is in the Earth.
Melissa, it’s a lot of info to take in so take it slow and when you feel the craving for new books, you can start digging in! 🙂
The Katrina Raphaell books are in the Apple bookstore. About $10.00 each!
Great tip, Jody! Thanks for sharing that. 🙂
Love this! Two of my favorite things, Books and Crystals. ????
I’ve been reading Clearing Crystal Consciousness and highlighting it like crazy. Also just picked up the Spiritual Value of Gem Stones ????❤️ Thank you HM!
LISA!! Miss you. ♥ I think you’re gonna love those 2 books.
I have read and loved all these books! The Gurudas is a particular favorite of mine. The only one I would add is “The Healing Power of Gemstones in Tantra, Ayurveda & Astrology” by Harish Johari, which was written in the late 1980s. If you are unfamiliar with Hindu Astrology and Ayurveda, you may find parts of it a little confusing but its still well worth a look as is discusses in detail how specific crystals have been used for thousands of years.
Thanks for that one, Christina. I’ve added it to my wish list. 🙂
I haven’t read books 4-7, but I devoured the first three books. They changed my consciousness and I highly recommend them. I’ll have to check out the other books as well. Thanks for these suggestions, and for all you do. Glad your feeling more energetic these days 🙂

Everything has been looked after, thank you.
Oh you knew this was coming….Love is in the Earth!
BEST BOOK EVER!!!! too bad it’s out of print 🙁
I’ve got 4 of her books by Melodie.
She needs to do a volume 2 or an addendum; which would be the size of vol 1. LOL
Aloha HB!
Good to see you back! You look fantabulous!
Love all the Vintage Books you recommended in this video.
Wishing you a fun, joyous healthy summer.
Mahalo for your awesome vids.
Lydee 🙂
love this list! i bought Spiritual Value of Gem Stones by Wally and Jenny Richardson and Lenora Huett once upon a time when i was starting out making jewellery. i was drawn to the book, it kind of “stuck” to my fingers. i even designed a miniature of aaron’s breast plate (unfortunately i didn’t get any photos of it). this book holds much great info!
I would love for this to be offered again, please. I was very sick for several months and missed it. Trying to get back on my feet. Blessings

These books are very interesting. Especially the knowledge about crystals have boost my learning very much. Kindly suggest if there are any other books too.
Thanks for this Blog post! I scored big time with Amazon and believe I got them all. 😀
I love your writings and all of the videos! Hoping to be able to take your course soon!
Michael Giengers book Crystal Power, Crystal Healing has 200 pages of introductory text that is mandatory in my understanding for the serious crystal student. He correlates structure and usage in ways that others don’t and I like that he goes into mental, physical, spiritual and emotional levels of energy work with the stones. Really good.
Love it thanks for the info ❤????
