Fair Warning: This post isn’t so much about crystals as it is about me. The reason I’m doing this post is b/c I’d like to connect & bond with my readers here, creating more of a personal connection. I feel that sometimes I forget that & leave some personal things out unintentionally. At the same time, I don’t want to get too personal & give you TMI or boring tidbits you just couldn’t care less about. You may be completely uninterested & are really just here for the crystals so I may be totally off track here but I’ll take a risk, throw caution to the wind & for the sake of having FUN, take a chance! That being said, this won’t be a regular thing either. 😉
The last thing I want is a dry and dull crystal blog…if you’re looking for that, you’ve landed in the wrong spot!
So let’s go!
1. I’ve worked some sort of job since I was 11 (babysitting!) & worked full-time paying my own way through college & grad school with no grants or loans. I lived with a roommate in an apartment in Miami & got a full-time job when I was 17. I worked in department stores, then waitressed & finally bartended my way through college. No government assistance. It took me longer but at 25 I finally graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Biological Anthropology with an emphasis in Primatology & Geology. Later getting my Masters (started off with Geosciences later switching to Curriculum, Instruction & Technology) while still working full time as a Science Department Chair and teacher. You CAN do it!!
2. My hubby & I met when he was 14 & I was 13 in a bowling alley. I fell hopelessly in love but all we did was talk on the phone. It wasn’t meant to be since we didn’t go to the same school. The stars aligned just perfectly bringing us together just as I graduated high school & we were “just out of high school sweethearts” for one summer. He then moved to Los Angeles & my heart broke. 🙁 I thought of him every day for years & years. I went on with my life & had a serious relationship but as soon as it ended 8 years later…who did I call? My Frankie! He dropped what he was doing & met me & my BFF out that night & we’ve been inseparable ever since. We’ll be married 16 years this New Year’s Eve. He’s quite literally the love of my life.♥
3. I have a SUPERBAD memory. OMG!! It’s so bad that my friends have been telling me I have Alzheimer’s since I was in high school. But now its getting really really bad. I could be so much smarter if I could just remember shiz! Plus, my BFF always has to remind me of fun stuffs that happened when we were younger. I can never remember it!
4. I drank a glass of bleach thinking it was 7Up when I was 5 years old. *Wait! how did I remember that? LOL.* Got my stomach pumped & lived to tell the tale!
5. I’m Sicilian. My parents both came over on the boat (my Mom was 9, my dad when he was in his early 20’s) and didn’t know a lick of English, so I’m a proud 1st generation American, daughter of immigrants. I do speak Italian (and understand Sicilian dialect) but it’s getting very rusty with no one to really speak it with on a regular basis. I miss you Nonni!
6. I wanted to be a dolphin trainer in high school. Instead, college got me interested in primates & I ended up working with them & just about every other animal as an animal trainer in the Miami Metro Zoo daily shows in the ’90s. 3 shows a day! Funnest job ever = Lowest pay ever! Also and most importantly, it completely changed my mind about keeping animals in zoos and domesticated WILD animals = I’m totally against it now. But that’s a different topic for another day.
7. My favorite thing to wear these days is cool T-shirts!! I’ll wear rock tees (that would be “rock bands”, although I do have a T-shirt with actual rocks on it!!) but Geek tees are my ultimate! And my fav place to get them is SnorgTees.com!! Woooooot! T’is a new favorite of mine!
8. I got into crystals very young. I remember leafing through a Smithsonian Museum book of my father’s at about the age of three, the amazing photographs of crystals and gems just stopped me in my tracks! I would leaf through that book over and over again, just staring until the pages were worn. Of course, I had no idea at the time what these beautiful objects were. I was just intrigued that something as gorgeous & perfect as a crystal could emerge from the dirt & rough rocks!
9. I don’t watch TV at all. I just find it all too mind-numbing. We subscribe to Netflix though & watch lots of documentaries (No Impact Man is a recent good one) or watch some shows via the Internet & our kick-but Google box streaming the Internet to our TV. We can watch the local news if need be through the digital antennae but very rarely find the need (except during hurricane season here in tropical Florida). I do read a hellalot of books though! Oh yeah… I have managed to get hopelessly addicted to Breaking Bad with no TV, go figure!
10. I banged my head! Between the ages of 17-19, one of my many jobs was as a TicketMaster (diff. name back then, can’t remember…LOL!) sales girl & record store clerk. I also knew how to play guitar back then. My friends & I went to EVERY Heavy Metal concert that hit town (uuuummm… not much has changed here) during that time period since I could get the tix right away. This was circa 1986-88. I won radio contests, back stage passes, my luck was superb!! I tried hard to win but I also KNEW that I would win… & I would! *law of attraction, Party Peeps* I even won a limo ride+ dinner + back stage passes to a Bon Jovi/Cinderella concert. Yes, met them all (& lost the photos!!!) Because it was Valentine’s Day, I brought by boyfriend at the time (not Frankie) instead of my BFF, Cathy! I think she still wants to kill me!! What an idiot I was!
OK, that was a fun little detour. We’ll be back to our regularly-scheduled crystal posts next time. Promise!!
- Do we have anything in common? Please comment on it below.
- Tell me something fun about YOU that I don’t know!
With an Open Heart. Mwwwaaaah!♥
OMG….I can not stop laughing. That pic of you and Cathy just sent me over the edge. Thanks so much for sharing all that info about yourself. I just loved it.
Kathi
hehehe Kathi!! Now where’s your headbanger pic?
Ten Things You Might Not Know About Me.
@teodord9 TY for the tweet tweet teo! 🙂
Awww. Love the pic of you and your BFF. Lol. Something about me…..my cousins and I were throwing rocks at each other across the “crick” (on the shore). Let’s just say, I got stitches below my right eye. It wadn’t fun anymore!!! Laughs now! Love ya HM
Its all fun & games until…
I dreamed of being a dolphin trainer too. And am also a teacher, although I teach little ones (first grade). Thanks for sharing 🙂
TY for sharing Jenny! I have a whole new perspective on working with dolphins now & would only condone swimming with free dolphins. Would love to do that someday.
Was a police officer for 13 years. Then met and married my husband of 23 years. Worked in youth prevention for 6.We have a son who is in 3rd year of College w/ internship in Geographical Intelligence(same field as DAD) w/a passion for the Paranormal.A 18 year old daughter that is described well, as yourself. She loves to work, bands, and going to community college next year. Just received top marks on state board for Cosmetology thru High School. Wants to get a College Degree. My whole family LOVES crystals!!!
I love that your whole family is into crystals. How cool! Geo. Investigating & paranormal passionate sounds so interesting. 🙂
Love this post! Very fun and interesting and admittedly very romantic 🙂 I don’t know many who have met their partner so early in life!
Here’s one tidbit about me: When I was little I always wanted to be a baker so I could eat as many sweet things as I wanted to. I never got that many sweets from my parents! Then I found out that bakers usually get up at 5AM or earlier… That definitely changed my mind! 🙂
And something I haven’t realized until very recently: I always used to do conceptual work, creating concepts for stories, fantasies, games, toys, etc. when I was little. It took me two different studies that I broke off and a well meaning teacher to guide me to the field of graphic design. Now I finally get to do conceptual work all the time. 🙂
That is a very creative way to get some sweets! heehee.
My FAVORITE post ever!! Loved it!! 🙂
TY Tess! ((HUGS))
Thanks for sharing ten fun facts! Your wedding picture is so romantic! It’s wonderful that you ended up with the love of your life, even if you took some detours along the way.
After being divorced, I married the love of my life 8 months after our blind date, so if there’s anyone out there afraid of blind dates, they do pay off…sometimes!
I’ve always been afrid of blind dates…then again didn’t get to date much either. I missed out on that!
Something fun about me…I love STICKERS!! Any and all, sparkly or not, stickers. I buy them with no other plan other than to look at them. Eventually, I use them in my journal or just on stuff.
I was a late blooming headbanger, in the grunge era…LOL! I met one of my best friends when I was 15 and she introduced me to all I had missed musicwise in the 80’s! Love you pic, dear!
Oh! I’ve been dying to get my hands on some crystal stickers. If you ever find any, let me know, Chanda. 🙂
Ten Things You Might Not Know About Me
Love this! you’ve inspired me to do a post like this………I’ve been thinking of doing a fun one and now you have given me permission to do so….and wait til you see one of my pics! and my hair!!! lolololol
Do it Gina! Can’t wait to see. 😀
Hah I love that headbanger photo!Cracks me up. I also admire that you were so independent at a young age!!! That is truly amazing.
I also met my bf when I was about 14 too and ended up together as adults. 😛 Thanks for sharing all of this!
Isn’t it cool to have known him so long? ♥
Thank you for sharing bits of you with us. A little bit about me…I’m proud to be a geek. I love to learn and soak up knowledge. I fantasize about waking up and my job would be to go to class and learn all day every day. I did a science project in middle school on rocks. I was always fascinated with stones and crystals and I’m happy that I finally have reunited with my love of them and get to use them for good.
#GEEKS UNITE!!
I Loved your little trip down Steph Lane, and think you have always been great fun! None of your experiences link up with mine, except that I have always loved rocks and crystals, and always had stones on my dresser at home, before I really knew anything about them. Great Big Crystal Hugs! Michelle E
We’re Crystal Soul Si-Stars, Michelle!♥
Yes it truly is a gift! 🙂 <3
Thanks for sharing this post with us. Your 10 facts make you even more likeable and interesting 🙂 Hmmm, let’s see… I have a great memory but no concept of time. I can’t remember what month/year things happened in. I associate events with what was going onr at the time in my life.~ When i was little my mom used to braid my hair and put pretty beads on the end. Not sure why but, when I was 4 or 5 I decided to smell one and got it stuck up my nose. :-p As a child I used to walk around carrying what I called my “magic rock” aka amethyst that my grandmother had given me. That was the foundation for my love of crystals and gemstones. Fast forward to the present… My family and I also do not watch tv. Netflix for movies and documentaries, tv for my husbands sports and YouTube for all things pertaining to crystals, health and metaphysics 🙂 Love and Light Bella Stephanie 🙂
P.S. For any parents like myself who abhor the kids shows on tv today, check out YT for full episodes of old school Reading Rainbow and The Magic School Bus. My 9, 3 and 1 yr old love it!
TY for sharing that Ericka! The ole’ bead up the nose. That doesn’t feel good at all! Netflix is the BOMB!
As your story clearly tells us that all is in Divine perfect order! I am happy that you are enjoying the ride! When you first started on the internet, i followed your work and loved every page of it and I “knew” that you were going to hit it big time with the crystals! Little did I “see” that I was going to be your student! I am loving this and I am so grateful for the angels focus for me to work with you. Now everything makes perfect sense! 🙂 Blessings! Barb Cromwell

This was so much fun to read! We have tons in common 😀 I love your heavy metal insert \m/ haha
Thank you for sharing, I look forward to telling my beloved (who’s Sicilian) about your background. He initially had a positive feeling about you but these fun facts will reaffirm that I have the coolest teacher 😉
TY Brooke!! Now let’s see your heavy metal pics!! mwaaaaahahaha.
I love your love story of you and your husband. After 2 failed marriages, my High School Sweetheart and I reconnected through Myspace back in 2006 and we’ve been together 5 years now and will be married 3 in August.
I was a HUGE headbanger back in the day. You are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lucky to have met Bon Jovi. What I would do to be able to meet him even now. I still love my 80’s music.
I remember following your blog several years ago and remember you doing a Youtube video on Mermaid oil I believe it was…I do know it was definitely about Mermaids. I’m so happy to have found you again. You are truly an inspiration to me and so many many others! (((HUGS)))
I KNOW you can relate Jennifer. Congrats on the Wedding…its right around the corner. You must be getting so excited. 😀
I still have that vid somewhere & I’m still obsessed with mermaids. 😉
You are so cute! I just turned 50, look 45 and feel 21. Worked retail all through HS and college, have been a journalist, bus tour guide in Switzerland, book reviewer, paralegal and full-time Mom to two boys. I have baked birthday cakes shaped like Thomas the Tank Engine and a Wizard’s hat. I have always had a cat since I was 12. I am addicted to Downton Abbey, and have been into crystals to some degree for a couple of decades.
Wow, I love people who bring all kinds of experiences like that to the table. Interesting folk for sure!!
ROCKS!!!! I received a RANGER RICK sample collection in about 1979 and I LOVED IT…all laid out nice in a box within a grid that identified each of the samples. I HAVE seen it in my adult life, but not 100% sure where my precious rocks are this minute. Fast forward, 80s heavy metal. If it was loud and hard, I was there with my trusty bic lighter. 😉 Saw all the big ones and even some awesome oldies! Although, my attire was MUCH more Joan Jett than yours. Flash forward….Engineering school….licking rocks in Geology class….a bunch of kids and 20 years….I find myself going back to my beloved earth treasures and subscribing to your page. 🙂 ROCK on SISTA
Things in common??? Why CRYSTALS, of course. AND… Met my current husband in 1972 in highschool… married in 2004… quite a saga between. Worst memory ever, and HONEY is my memory keeper… he is an elephant. But mostly I wanted to share my entre’ into loving crystals. My Granny, a very stern and imposing woman, took me to a place called Horse Pens 40. It is in north Alabama and at that time had rock and mineral shows. We drove into the grounds and I saw massive rock face covered in graffiti. It upset me very much and my Granny agreed. Then we got to the show. They had crystals and tumbled rocks, galore. I got to just explore all day. I really wanted a rock tumbler, as I thought this was a magical instrument, but they did not think that was an appropriate “toy”, so I never got one. But what I did get was my Granny’s appreciation, love and respect for the mineral world and an introduction to the love and magic of CRYSTALS AND STONES! They have been in my life… they come to me…they work with me… I have had crystals under my healing table and in my practice from the beginning, 23 years ago. I am so excited to discover you and this wonderful place of CRYSTAL LOVE… thanks so much for this… EnJoy, Deb Paradise
Priceless….Nothing better than REAL people. I have been enjoying your posts for a month now and now your mission to be connected to your fans has been accomplished. As a new business owner I am inspired….thank you for bringing joy into this world.
I munched on my brothers medication when I was five, thought it was candy, and had my stomach pumped also….I too have loved crystals and nature since I was very young…grew up on 26 acres of field wood and stream…..I wanted to be a dog show judge, learned every breed their was but did not know where to go to become one, so I went o an agricultural school and became a farmer/butcher…..I love my Netflix, no tv for me, but I will do a marathon on DVD of tv shows I wanted to see…I too have banged and am still banging my head…love my metal
I don’t watch TV, either. I gave it up sometime in 2007-ish. Movies (Yay Netflix), and books are my thing, too! xo
I too dont bother with the tv, i call it the BB (boring box). Love reading, and working with my Crystals (my babys as i call them). Three of my Daughters love Crystals too, even my youngest age just 8 yrs has a small collection and loves them dearly. 🙂
That was awesome! thank you so much for sharing!
I to am Italian, although not full but almost! (sicilian and cree) I wish i was fluent in the languarge, but i am not. You look so awesome in that picture lol that made my day!
Your life ROCKS! 😛
And like you, have married the love of my life and we are inseparable 🙂
P.s. I almost forgot :P….there has to be a crystal for memory
Thank you for sharing this about yourself, so wonderful. I too don’t watch the tv, i call it the BB (boring box), i love reading (self educating myself further) about Crystals, Spirituality, ancient civilisations etc. I love meditating, especially outdoors ahhh. My dear Bampy worked at a quarry and often picked up little sparkly stones for me, i would spend hours playing with them (i was 5 yrs old), i kept them in my bedroom window at their home. I had no idea at the time that the stones were in fact Quartz, i treasure them to this day and keep them in a hand carved box.
My fave Crystal is Amethyst which i work with alot in meditation, ‘My Time’ as i call it. I care for my Husband and Son who are both disabled and i’m raising our two beautiful Grandchildren, so ‘My Time’ is so important! Enough about me 😉 Many blessing to you <3
I am originally from Kansas, moved to Seattle area in 1979. I am 2nd oldest of 8 kids. When I was young my dad taught us to skip stones (despite mom’s concerns). I started being drawn to crystals in Girl Scouts. My dad was a tile setter, and he would bring me home pieces of marble, onyx, granet, etc., to add to my collection. I was a waitress, paralegal, and now a massage therapist. I had a son when I was 35, and now a grandmother thanks to my husband’s oldest daughter.
I am an energy healer.
Thanks for sharing.
Yay! This was so much fun! I started collecting crystals and stones when I was three, and when my family moved at the age of 10, all of them were lost in transit. LOL, I think I have more than made up for my lost collection now, though! My husband and I met at the same age that you and Frankie did, in biology class! We have been together for 12 years now. 😀 I speak some Italian – enough to get me where I need to go, at least. Oh, and my hubby and I don’t have TV either! For us, letting go of TV helps us to keep our focus on what we feel is most important in life. Thanks for sharing! <3
I got a good giggle from the last picture… I swear I have a shot of a friend and I looking pretty much the same as you and your friend… oh that hair!
I am super jealous you got to snuggle with a Jaguar. Super jealous.
When I was around 5 or 6 I made up a job name for what I wanted to be – marinatologist. What does a marinatologist, you ask? Why a dolphin doctor, of course!
Loved this sharing you did! Even if you did get to snuggle a Jaguar. ; )
LOL! The heavy metal pic. LOVE it. Thanks for sharing so much. You really do ROCK in many ways. Ha! ha!
I see similiarities in that I wanted to work with Dolphins. I wanted to go into Marine Biology and work with sea animals.
I grew up a Geologist’s Daddy’s girl. Rocks have been my life since before I could walk. I used to LOVE going to his University Geology room!! OMG!! it was better than taking me to the candy store!! ( I know whatta a nerdy girl!!) I flipped out when sometimes I got to take an extra fossil home. I flipped through all of his books and pictures. He brought me a geode whenI was 8. I was like OMG!! They come in SPARKLY TOO??!! Iwas hooked. I found my first piece of Jade that year in the dirt.
After a near death experience I became obsessed with crystals. My Uncle was a Chemist. he saw my intereset and gave me a huge book on the mineral kingdom with pictures. He told me all about the science of it and the energies. Totally hooked.since. I learned crystal gazing and meditation. Later some Reki. My life has been a rollercoaster and now I believe I found my path and home here in Crystal Hottie land. I feel so blessed to have you in my world now. The old saying : When the student is ready the teacher will come.
THANKS!!
Love you Hibiscus Moon <3
Love it all! Terrible memory, special education teacher, got my master’s degree as a reading specialist while teaching full-time with a newborn baby, married my soulmate, it will be 28 years in June <3. Love crystals…hubby knows my favorite gift is a bag of rocks ;-). Sooo excited to be starting your class on May 1st. Love, love, love the picture of you with the big cat! Teach full time to support my love of crystals, reiki, aromatherapy and Bellydance.
We have a lot in common. Glad to have you on board Patty!
… And totally new guilty pleasure— Breaking Bad. Must be the teacher thing 😉
love this post. Really nothing in common except the crystals. I’ve been hunting and gathering since I was old enough to walk.
Loved this post! For a long time I thought about working with animals in some way, but decided to be a teacher instead. I’ve taught K-6 and 9-12, but no interest in the grades in between. I also love ThinkGeek! Have you had this experience? You share the funniest tshirt or whatever with someone and they just. don’t. get. it… Ah well. My husband and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon – frequent flier miles used to be such a blessing! – and you know what I did? Searched all over Mount Haleakala for obsidian and any other interesting rocks that might be up there. Found none, but brought him around to the point that we enjoy taking hikes just to look for rocks (because we don’t live where there are fancy crystals) . We have found some VERY interesting fossils, though! Loved your post!
One of my first jobs was as a firefighter for the dept of natural resources. I was the first woman on a “20 Man” crew in my area. I worked hard! After high school, I worked as a reporter for a small weekly newspaper and was among the first people to fly up to Mt St Helens after it blew in 1980. We live a relatively short distance from the mountain, as the “crow flies”. Many years in a paper mill, followed by a few years as a scuba instructor, short stint in car sales (EEK), worked for a glass manufacturer and now am retired due to health issues. Sometime during all that (during the paper mill/scuba instructor days) I lost my home of 13 yrs to a landslide…devastating! Have survived 4 occurrences of metastatic cancer and am doing GREAT! Still have small issues to deal with, but with my crystals, reiki, my wonderful circle of friends and family… we’ve got this! OH, and I’ve been married to the same wonderful man for 33+ years… he is my ROCK (pun intended). What a journey I’ve had and I’m not nearly to the end of it! Namaste
I’m with you on the “superbad memory” thing – I tell people “info just doesn’t settle into the crevices of my brain like it does for everyone else!” I have wished for a long time to address this somehow. However, my partner loves it because he can always surprise me with things! 😉
omg yes! I love love love concerts…hit up as many as I can! although instead of rock bands…im more into boy bands hehe 😉
hi! great post! I follow you since a few months now because of all the interesting things you say about crystals and in a way I have always felt connected somehow! now I see why!. I am Italian, I worked as baby sitter and waitress and dancer and Singer during high school and university time to pay my things, I love metal and I started to listen to Glam when I was 11 in the late 80, but as soon as I was old enough to go to concerts I went and met almost all of my favorite bands starting with SKID ROW! I have travelled a lot and i have lived in England, Scotland and now in Sweden. i have done many different jobs to end up working as a tour guide in the beautiful Stockholm! i love crystals since I was about 6 and by the way…..my memory sucks! to conclude you can practice italian with me if you want !
Love the post and loving that pic! I’m Bon Jovi/Aerosmith lover too and I know I have a pic with almost the same hairstyle! Awesome!!!
I was way into collecting rocks and crystals as a kid…had boxes of them 🙂
And also wanted to work and swim with dolphins…tried going pre-med in college but realized I just wanted to swim with dolphins not study them 🙂
Love what you do!
I don’t watch TV. Have liked crystals since finding stones in the dirt at age 5
I was crazy when young, thought I’d only live to be 30. Lo and behold I’m 59 now and becoming a crystal healer. Thank you HM !
We got 3,8, and 9 in common 😀
Hi Jen, Yes a male interested in crystals. Lost my job 4 and a half years ago due to post traumatic shock. (Worked as correctional officer) Psyciatrist told my wife (after I have had 6 brain shocks or ECT’S) that I would not function normally amongst normal people and that my place was booked in an assylumm. My wife resigned her job took me home and took care of me….six months later I was better.
I then started to study “Master Herbalist” and I aced all my subjects….today I am a master herbalist. Still no job (my court case is coming up 1 November 2013 for unfair dismissal, at this stage we are at the labour court. I have helped quite a lot of people already but I do not have finances to open a practice. I absolutely love crystals, again lack of money to really put my heart into it.
I love your post
Namaste – love and light!!
Awwww just too cute….. you are hilarious….love it 🙂
We both started working and developed crystal interest young.
Don’t watch tv either. I can’t count how many times someone has been describing a recent show and I look lost and they say “Don’t you ever watch tv?” Nope. Too much negative mumbo jumbo on the boob tube. Rather read a good book, or play with my treasures or make things from drift wood. Oh, I forgot I have the bad memory thing going on too. I can remember stuff that ain’t real important and things from my childhood but when it comes to the here and now….hold on what was I saying…? Lol
I stopped watching television shortly after 9/11.
I banged my head to but it was due to my horse rearing and being bareback. Landed head first. It’s true, you really do see stars.
When I was five, I wanted to be an archeologist. I wanted to take all of my brushes from my paint by number kits, get on a plane to Egypt and I just knew I was going to uncover something amazing.
I’ve recently started following your Facebook page. I have a love for stones as well. My grandmother introduced them to me at a young age and their healing abilities. I too am from Florida but recently moved 🙁 Love the Miami Metro Zoo! And what a neat story of you and your husband. Truly meant to be.
Ticketron Stephanie! I guess that last pic was your Bon Jovi stage!
Dear lovely Crystal Friend, I’m Italian and i read and love and take your advise from Italy. I Think i’m the only one from Italy. It is a surprise discover that your parents are italians too!
Best post ever! I can relate! I didn’t have the same jobs as you but I started at about age 11 babysitting and it went from there! I worked at anything & everything that made enough money to buy my own clothes. I have always been a nature ‘freak’! Being I lived near the Bruce Trail in Ontario growing up, I was always hiking around the Niagra Escarpment. Back then, you didn’t worry about being highjacked or picked up! After all that was the 60’s! I loved crystals and stones and fossil rocks. Thanks for sharing your story as it brought back to me, my memories!
Loved it! Thanks for the memories!
I have always loved stones & would collect them… somehow @ a young age I had a decent… awesome collection… in high school my science teacher had brought up stones…. so… proud of my collection I brought them school…. but I was painfully shy & didn’t want anyone in class to know it was me who brought them in…. I never got them back…. & my teacher of course kept them…. it upsets me to this day : (
I was going to the same concerts as you were back in the day…. only it was in Denver…. I was very lucky… I would win so many things…. including trips to London & a cruise to the Bahamas…. I swore I was going to win the lottery… but I ended up moving to las Vegas…. not as lucky… although I recently won a gift card for a massage!
I love your posts & personality… you’re very down to earth… it’s hard not to feel like you’re a close friend…
LOVE & GRATITUDE xoxo
If you like to speak in Italian I’m here for hepl if you want. I’m born in Slovenia but do all schools in Italy because my father was italian and my mother partialy. Now I live in Italy because my housban was Italian. We met 1 year and a half ago, and in march was one year that we are married.
Thank you for that tibit about you! Wonderful!
Thank you for all your hard work with the crystals…My man and I are very much into crystals with our energy work!
Love and Light!
Lana
One of my first vivid memories was of watching my mum trim my little sister’s bangs, with her sat up on top of the bathroom countertop. This was before church one Sunday and I remember the ironing board being out – not usual, ha ha. Skip ahead to mum finishing her task, exiting bathroom and I really clearly recall watching her set the scissors down on the ironing board, then a moment passes and I can see my own little hand reaching up for the scissors whilst the other hand grabs the whole front of my bangs, and I can hear my mum’s voice shouting ‘NO!’ from the other end of the hallway as I close the scissors over my hair. Then the memory abruptly ceases, total blank, but my mum tells me I basically scalped myself, cut the hair right to the root and was so embarrassed she had to buy me a hat which I would not take off until my bald patch had grown in. Ha ha! I was only about 4 or 4 and a half – any wonder that I then had hair down past my butt until I was 14???? : )
Wow that is funny, It sounds so much like myself, only my best friend was the one that had an awesome ticket connection because her parents were best friends with contemporary productions owner, which was who you got the tickets from back in the 80s in St. Louis. My favorite band was Iron Maiden and I saw them three times with really good seats, and many other shows.
Well we’ve got to be about the same age, 46 here, and I absolutely love your rocker hair! My hair cut was like Jim McMahon the quarterack for the Chicago Bears when Refrigerator Perry and Walter Payton played. Kinda like Joe Dirty hair. I did have to big hair too. And yes , we probably are to blame for the huge hole in the Ozone…..thanks Aqua net !!!! Thank you for this post. Yes it was different, but now we know you a little bit more. Crystal blessings my sparkle friend.
That was pretty cool, it is nice to read some inside tid bits about you. I would so love to meet Bon-jovi one of my favourite bands lol.
You should do a blogg like that more often.

LOL! Yes, I do see some similarities, probably because you are a Capricorn! (I am a “double Capricorn with both sun and moon in first house.)
I, too, don’t always remember past incidences or situations. I think that has to do with being a Capricorn as well. We remember facts and figures but not “happenings” so much. I think it is one reason why we also love crystals and stones since Capricorn is the cardinal Earth sign.
I don’t know if you are old enough to remember Farrah Fawcett? That was the prevailing hair style when I was in high school. I had slightly wavy long hair but whenever I got it “done” they would put it in that FF style which I hated!
I grew up in Fort Lauderdale (where I find myself again today!) and did a lot of scuba diving, water skiing, etc. Unfortunately for me (in some ways) I am 80% English and 6% Irish and I have the very fair skin to prove it! I spent a good deal of time applying sunblock!
I do not speak Italian at all but I have sung in it many times! My first love was singing so I went to college (and also paid for it myself) to study vocal performance. (I was more interested in classical music than popular.) Instead, because I worked a good part of that time in technology, I ended up working in that field (and it’s a good thing I love technology, too!).
I wasn’t allowed to babysit until I was 13 but that is what I first did for a job until I started working at Publix when I was . . . well, I don’t remember that!
