Let’s brew up some Hibiscus Vitamin C Immune Boosting Gem Elixir Iced Tea!
Click to watch my video here…
I was making some Hibiscus Gem Elixir Iced Tea and I knew I had to film it & share it with all of you!
Although it looks like Kool-Aid, this drink is bright red due to a lot of dried hibiscus flowers.
I get my hibiscus flowers and many of the ingredients I used here from Earth Shift Products.
This isn’t a product endorsement or anything like that. In the video above I show you different brands for different things included in this recipe…but a lot of my stuff I do get from Earth Shift because they follow many of the same philosophies as I do. I always prefer Fair Trade & Organic & they strive for that too.
Iced Tea Super Powers?
Vitamin C: This tea is rich in Vitamin C. Super high vitamin C, so that is where the immune boosting is coming from, from those hibiscus flowers.
Gem Elixir: We’re also adding a gem elixir, particularly a citrine gem elixir in this tea for good mood & feel good energy. I’ve got that going in my tea-to-go glass thermos that you guys are always asking me about (and I will tell you more about in the video).
Mood Booster: Besides immune boosting, this Iced Tea is a good mood booster. 🙂 If you’re dealing with depression, or you happen to know anybody dealing with depression…or if you just have the blah’s or the blues, this is a great tea to drink for that.
Hibiscus Gem Elixir Iced Tea Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons of dried Hibiscus Flowers.
- 2 tablespoons of powdered ginger
- 8 drops of magnesium concentrate w/ trace minerals
- 4 tablespoons of silica gel
- 1 pitcher full of citrine gem elixir or about 8 cups of water
- 1 or 2 citrine or quartz crystals
- 2 organic lemons
- healthy sweetener to taste (raw organic honey or agave)
- Some sort of strainer
*Credit Given: I modified this recipe from a recipe from Earth Shift’s products, on their website and I changed it around a bit to make it my own.*
Magnesium
The Magnesium Concentrate is not something you’re just going to find everywhere. Again, I get mine here.
This adds more minerals to the tea, especially if you have non-mineralized water. A lot of people who have reverse osmosis water systems, that don’t re-mineralize the water…that is not living water so you want to re-mineralize it. Or if you drink distilled water (which is better than tap water) this is a good option to re-mineralize your water.
We need magnesium in a form that we can assimilate and take in. You might take magnesium supplements, but this is even better than taking magnesium supplements because it is prepared in a way that is readily available & absorbable by your body!
Silica
Silica is the same thing as a liquified quartz crystal; silicon dioxide. Yep, drinking our crystals. 😉 Research has found that many of us suffer from silica deficiencies! I usually take one tablespoon of silica per day. It’s really great for:
- re-energizing
- re-mineralizing
- cartilage & support for joint protection
- connective tissues
- hair
- skin
- nails
- + restructuring your cell walls because those are partly made of silica
A couple of things you might notice in the video…I have some stickers that say different things on my bottle & my water pitcher which is for restructuring and energizing the water with the vibration frequencies of what I want from this, what I’m manifesting or intending to bring about.
My thermos says “awake and ready”. This is a la Dr. Emoto. If you follow his teachings, the late Dr. Emoto taught about restructuring and energizing your water with messages. On the pitcher it says “positive”, “energetic”, “enthusiastic”. Here’s an option that’s similar to the ones I used.
Returning to the tea making festivities:
So the water’s in the pitcher. Then I put in the hibiscus flowers and you’ll notice those will start to color the water right away. It starts to get really nice and pink then bright red. You want the flowers to steep in there for at least 15 minutes. Longer if you like.
Then you’ll strain the flowers out. (You can use them again for something else: to make a hot tea, or some people make cookies or at the very least, you can compost them.)
Once you take the hibiscus flowers out then you can add in all the other ingredients and put it in the refrigerator. Or go ahead and fill a glass with ice and pour it right over. Ready to drink & heal!
***NOTE: When you put the ginger in, it does cloud up a little bit. You can also put fresh ginger in, it doesn’t need to be the powdered kind but if you want it to really mix in there, I like to use the powder for that.***
It’s really nice & refreshing. It’s GORGEOUS, yummy + it’s fun.
Let me know if you try it, I can’t wait to see what yours looks like (tag me on Instagram with #hibiscusmoon). I’d love to hear how you like it and if you get the energy + immune boosting effects from it and all of that. Tell me in the comments below!
Crystal Blessings,
HI, So I want to ask you a question about your hibiscus elixir….
Is it okay for my daughter to drink? Like is the magnesium or silica too much for her? She is 7.
Thank you so much. I am totally enjoying everything I am learning from your site !!!!!
This sounds so yummy!! Thank you for sharing! I will have to get the ingredients to try it!!
I hate to break it to you but agave is not healthy. Do a little research on how it is made wit all the chemical extraction process and you will switch to stevia perhaps. Otherwise, this sounds like summer in a glass 🙂
I have read that ingesting silica can cause excessive urination which can lead to dehydration. Also you can get kidney damage from long-term ingestion. It also can cause low levels of thiamine and vitamin B1 over the long term. That being said, it does have benefits as well.
Thanks for your knowledge…

Hello. I’m wondering, if you have an aversion to ginger flavor, do you have a suggestion for a substitute for whatever that ingredient provides?? Thanks!
Thank you!!! This sounds absolutely sparkly and delicious! I am eager to make this beauty. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. Whooohooooo! Another sparkly creation! Let the magic begin!!! Sparkle on, dear sweet souls. ????
