Thanks for hanging in there with these lite-blog post versions. Today’s is all about charging crystals under the full moon.
In a few weeks, we should be back to our usual here — but in the meantime, we’re rollin’ with it.
Hope you are too!
Today, we’re covering:
- Why I feel a monthly crystal “Full Moon cleanse” is NOT necessary
- Can you put your crystals out during the Full Moon when it’s cloudy? Or when you can’t see the Moon?
- How about if it’s raining or when there are freezing temps outside? Is that crystal-safe?
- Can crystals still receive lunar energy benefits through a window?
Crystals Under the Full Moon Resources
- IF your crystal does crack, here’s that blog post I referenced about: What does it mean when your crystal cracks or breaks?
- Look up your crystal’s Mohs Hardness number here.
- My blog post all about: Will my crystals still be powerful if they faded in the sunlight?
- Here I have some info on what I like to do at the New Moon

Waves of Crystal Blessings!
Hi, thank you for the advice regarding cleansing crystals under the Full Moon, I found it really helpful and also reassuring that it was ok if I didn’t manage to cleanse them every time there’s a full moon
Hey Claire! Yep, totally OK. 🙂
I just bought mu crystals the crystals I bought are sensitive to sunlight and water! Can some crystals be sensitive to the moon?
Great information. Thank you so much. I did want to ask about stones. I have stones like tigers eye and many others. Is the full moon exposure good to give them an energy recharge?
Sure, Bonnie! It’s great for all stones. 😀
I always thought that the New Moon was the time to put them out to set intentions and then the Full moon was when it should manifest?
That’s how I view it too but that’s different from “charging” crystals in Full Moon energy… in my eyes. Here I have some info on what I like to do at the New Moon: https://hibiscusmoon.com/new-moon-crystals/
Excellent video! I was happy to hear some of your advice and relieved that I had told many of my customers the same thing about the moons energy still being there even if it’s cloudy. I plan on sharing this on my business page soon and signing up for one of your classes. Thanks again and many blessings to you!
So glad you found it useful, Peg! ♥
Love this so much. Keep it coming !!!!
Thanks, HM, great info! We pagans believe certain phases of the Moon result in certain manifestations, so new moon to Full Moon is about bringing things into one’s life, and full moon to Dark Moon is better working to let things go and pushing away negativity. I will occasionally take this into account when working with certain crystals for certain things. Timely topic, I’ve been doing a deep clean of all my crystals at this moment, they are all on a covered back porch going from New Moon to full moon! That’s when you know you are a collector, when they are all gathered together. Brightest blessings all…
Thanks for sharing that Wendy. ♥ I follow Earth-based spiritually too. 🙂 Here I have some info on what I like to do at the New Moon: https://hibiscusmoon.com/new-moon-crystals/
Beautiful… Thank you!! ????????
Very interesting and informative article about full moon stone…I really enjoy reading your article.
If you miss the full moon by a couple days and it was cloudy on the day, is it still helpful to put them outside anyway? The moonlight is particularly brilliant tonight but the full moon was under cloud cover the 1st.
I charged my crystals on a full moon with a penumbral eclipse. They weren’t out for the eclipse, and I’ve always been drawn to eclipses. Others are saying I should bury my crystals for a month. I kind of want to ride it out. Any advice?
Thank you so much for that info on full moon charging. Just wondering if it’s okay to charge your crystals on a Luna eclipse full moon. As I’ve been reading it’s really bad to do this.
Hi HM, I left a selenite puffy heart outside during a full moon in Sedona (sounds perfect, right?) only to find it the next morning with teeth marks in it! Most likely a hungry javelina attracted to the shiny moon-lit stone! I learned a lesson, lol!
